Care Requirements:
- Temperature: 72-78°F
- Salinity: 1.023-1.025
- pH: 8.1-8.4
- Stable alkalinity and adequate calcium for spine and test (shell) health
- Ensure sufficient algae or supplement with nori if algae is limited
- Moderate water flow
Important Notes: While generally reef-safe, Pencil Urchins may occasionally knock over small coral frags or decorations while grazing due to their larger size and weight. Secure coral placement is recommended. Hungry urchins may nibble on coralline algae if other food sources are depleted. Urchins are sensitive to sudden salinity changes and require careful acclimation.
Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons.
