Designed & printed in house now, use the sieves we use daily. Made using American made, 100% reef safe PETG filament. These are built to withstand the harsh saltwater conditions and wont squash the copepods on the side like other brands.
These are made with European polyester mesh, not the pesky stainless steel that needs to be washed in tap water after each use. These won't rust, they are easy to clean and rinse off before next use.
50 micron are great for harvesting rotifer cultures daily or when you need to collect copepods and need to return nauplius to your culture.
120 micron are great for harvesting adult Tisbe, Apocyclops adults to feed your fish after harvesting. If growing Tigriopus we recommend putting the pods that collect in this sieve back in the culture vessel.
250 micron great for collection adult Tigriopus and Apocyclops copepods, we harvest and bottle this size of tigriopus copepods.
500 micron is great for helping catch debris from culture vessel on Tisbe/Apocyclsops copepods, this micron will also catch adult Tigriopus copepods.
850 micron is great for catching larger debris and algae from your copepods vessels.
We use 850, 500, 250, 120 and 50 micron sieves when harvesting copepods each week. You will get a clean harvest of mostly adult pods when you use more sieves. You will collect small debris, molts and phytoplankton in the 50 micron sieve and we recommend placing contents back in vessel to help copepod populations stay dense.
Feeding & Diet
An opportunistic omnivore, the Seahorse will scavenge detritus, uneaten food, and algae — making it a natural cleanup crew member. Supplement with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or pellets 2–3x per week if natural food sources are limited.
Care & Water Parameters
The Seahorse thrives in stable, well-maintained reef conditions. Target parameters: temperature 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026 SG, pH 8.1–8.4, and alkalinity 8–12 dKH. A mature, established tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended.
Reef & Tank Compatibility
Generally considered reef-safe. The Seahorse coexists well with most corals and peaceful fish. Use caution with very small invertebrates or slow-moving tankmates. Provide ample rockwork and hiding spots to reduce territorial behavior.
Size & Growth
Seahorses are typically shipped at 0.5–1.5 inches. They are slow-growing and generally remain small, making them well-suited for nano and mid-size reef systems.
