**Antennata (Venomous) Lionfish: A Mesmerizing Predatory Marvel**

The Antennata Lionfish, a true spectacle of the marine world, is an extraordinary addition for experienced reef aquarium hobbyists looking to introduce a touch of the exotic to their underwater landscapes. Known for its distinctive fan-like pectoral fins and striking red and white striped body, this lionfish is as captivating as it is enigmatic. Its elegant, flowing movements combined with its intriguing appearance make it a centerpiece in any reef setup.

**Care Level & Requirements**

**Care Level:** Advanced
**Temperament:** Semi-aggressive
**Minimum Tank Size:** 50+ gallons
**Diet:** Carnivore - requires a varied diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, fish, and crustaceans.

**Water Parameters:**
- Temperature: 72-78°F
- Salinity: 1.020-1.025
- pH: 8.1-8.4
- dKH: 8-12

**Compatibility & Tank Mates**

While the Antennata Lionfish is a sight to behold, it is essential to understand its predatory nature. This species should be housed with larger, robust tank mates that cannot be easily consumed. It is generally compatible with other larger, non-aggressive fish, but caution must be exercised when considering smaller fish or invertebrates, as they may be seen as prey. Given its venomous spines, care should be taken during handling and tank maintenance.

**Reef Tank Suitability**

The Antennata Lionfish can coexist in a reef aquarium, provided its tank mates are chosen wisely. It will not harm corals or sessile invertebrates, making it a viable option for a diverse reef environment. However, ensure that the habitat includes plenty of rockwork and caves for hiding, as it appreciates a well-structured environment to exhibit natural behaviors.

Invite the enigmatic beauty of the Antennata Lionfish into your marine aquarium and transform your underwater world into a scene from the depths of an exotic ocean realm. With proper care and attention, this lionfish will thrive, providing endless fascination and conversation for all who gaze upon it.

Feeding & Diet

An opportunistic omnivore, the Pithos Crab will scavenge detritus, uneaten food, and algae — making it a natural cleanup crew member. Supplement with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or pellets 2–3x per week if natural food sources are limited.

Care & Water Parameters

The Pithos Crab thrives in stable, well-maintained reef conditions. Target parameters: temperature 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026 SG, pH 8.1–8.4, and alkalinity 8–12 dKH. A mature, established tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended.

Reef & Tank Compatibility

Generally considered reef-safe. The Pithos Crab coexists well with most corals and peaceful fish. Use caution with very small invertebrates or slow-moving tankmates. Provide ample rockwork and hiding spots to reduce territorial behavior.

Size & Growth

Pithos Crabs are typically shipped at 0.5–1.5 inches. They are slow-growing and generally remain small, making them well-suited for nano and mid-size reef systems.
