**Dogface Puffer:

The Dogface Puffer (Arothron nigropunctatus) is a captivating and personable addition to any marine aquarium, beloved for its unique appearance and engaging behavior. This pufferfish, with its expressive "dog-like" face, distinctive spotted pattern, and vibrant colors, brings a delightful charm to your underwater world.

**Care Level & Requirements**

Care Level: Moderate
Temperament: Semi-aggressive
Minimum Tank Size: 100+ gallons
Diet: Carnivore - enjoys a varied diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, and clams
Reef Safe: With caution - may nip at corals and invertebrates

**Aquarium Setup & Compatibility**

The Dogface Puffer thrives in a spacious aquarium of 100 gallons or more, providing ample room for swimming and exploration. They prefer stable water parameters with a temperature range of 74-78°F, pH between 8.1-8.4, and specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. A well-filtered tank with moderate to strong water movement helps mimic their natural environment and keeps them healthy.

While this puffer can be kept in a reef tank, caution is advised as they may nip at corals and smaller invertebrates. They are best suited for fish-only tanks or with carefully chosen tank mates. Compatible companions include larger, non-aggressive fish such as tangs and angelfish. Avoid housing them with other puffers or overly aggressive species to maintain a harmonious environment.

**Feeding & Behavior**

The Dogface Puffer is a carnivorous feeder, thriving on a diet rich in meaty foods. Regular feedings of shrimp, squid, and clams will satisfy their dietary needs and help maintain their vibrant coloration. Their unique ability to inflate their bodies when threatened adds an extra layer of intrigue and makes them an engaging aquarium resident.

**Why Choose the Dogface Puffer?**

Bringing a Dogface Puffer into your aquarium means inviting a lively and interactive fish that can quickly become a focal point and a favorite among hobbyists.
