**Sea Robin (Triglidae)**

Add an enchanting and unique flair to your reef aquarium with the captivating Sea Robin. Known for its wing-like pectoral fins and vibrant hues, this saltwater fish is sure to become a centerpiece of your underwater world. The Sea Robin's distinctive appearance and curious nature make it a fascinating addition for hobbyists seeking something truly extraordinary.

**Care Level & Requirements**

- **Care Level:** Moderate
- **Temperament:** Peaceful, though can be curious
- **Minimum Tank Size:** 75+ gallons
- **Water Parameters:**
- Temperature: 72-78°F
- pH: 8.1-8.4
- Salinity: 1.020-1.025
- **Diet:** Carnivore - prefers a varied diet of live and frozen meaty foods, such as shrimp, squid, and small fish

The Sea Robin thrives in stable water conditions and requires ample space to explore the sandy and rocky substrates of your reef tank. A well-established aquarium with a soft substrate will allow this bottom-dweller to indulge in its natural behavior of sifting through the sand.

**Reef Compatibility**

The Sea Robin is generally compatible with reef tanks, coexisting peacefully with corals and most other inhabitants. However, due to its size and bottom-dwelling nature, it is essential to ensure that tank mates are not overly aggressive or territorial. Its carnivorous diet may pose a risk to smaller crustaceans or fish, so choose companions wisely.

**Why Choose a Sea Robin?**

- **Unique Beauty:** With its wing-like fins and striking coloration, the Sea Robin adds an exotic touch to your aquarium.
- **Captivating Behavior:** Watch as it gracefully "walks" along the substrate, using its modified fin rays to search for food.
- **Engaging Addition:** Its curious and gentle demeanor makes the Sea Robin a joy to observe and care for.

Enhance your reef aquarium with the Sea Robin, a one-of-a-kind species that promises to captivate and delight both novice and experienced aquarists alike.

Feeding & Diet

An opportunistic omnivore, the Pithos Crab will scavenge detritus, uneaten food, and algae — making it a natural cleanup crew member. Supplement with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or pellets 2–3x per week if natural food sources are limited.

Care & Water Parameters

The Pithos Crab thrives in stable, well-maintained reef conditions. Target parameters: temperature 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026 SG, pH 8.1–8.4, and alkalinity 8–12 dKH. A mature, established tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended.

Reef & Tank Compatibility

Generally considered reef-safe. The Pithos Crab coexists well with most corals and peaceful fish. Use caution with very small invertebrates or slow-moving tankmates. Provide ample rockwork and hiding spots to reduce territorial behavior.

Size & Growth

Pithos Crabs are typically shipped at 0.5–1.5 inches. They are slow-growing and generally remain small, making them well-suited for nano and mid-size reef systems.
