Carnivore: crustaceans, mollusks and meaty foods. Feed small portions 1–2 times a day and rotate foods for a balanced diet.

Temperature 75–80°F, salinity 1.023–1.026 SG, pH 8.1–8.4, alkalinity 8–12 dKH, nitrate under 20 ppm. Minimum tank: 300 gal. Acclimate slowly and quarantine before adding to a display tank.

Not reef safe for inverts (eats shrimp, crabs, snails). Aggressive toward smaller fish.

Adults reach up to 20 in.
