The ReefMat is a plug & play, fully automated, smart fleece roller filter that keeps your aquarium water crystal clear for weeks at a time.
 
Designed with the hobbyist in mind, the ReefMat features an easy fleece-mat replacement system that allows you to switch rolls without having to remove the filter from the sump or turn off the pumps.
 
ReefMat includes a fail-proof solid-state level sensor and an unprecedented smart drive unit that controls and monitors the exact length of fleece-mat that is used. ReefMat is Wi-Fi connected to Red Sea’s ReefBeat smart aquarium eco-system and will notify you if the fleece-mat gets torn or runs out, gives you a head’s up before it needs replacing, and even provide you with a daily usage log.

Peace of Mind
Timely notifications should the fleece-mat get torn, stuck, or run out.  In addition to the notifications the ReefMat smart drive-unit
will automatically shut off the motor until the roll is unblocked or replaced.
 
End of Roll Monitor
Based of the avery daily usage, ReefBeat lets you know your preferred number of days before the roll is due to end.
 
Performance Log
Continuously monitor performance with a detailed hourly & daily fleece-mat dispensing record for the current roll and overall stats for previous rolls.
 
Customized Dispensing
The length of fleece-mat dispensed can be customized allowing for optimal systems performance.
 
Mounting and Installation
The ReefMat comes fully assembled, straight out of the box.  For easy of operation, it is designed to hang on the front wall of the sump.  However, it also has optional legs for a freestanding installation.
 
Both the Drive-unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat, as best suits each specific installation.
 
Kink-resistant, corrugated (32mm/1.25" ID) inlet hose with a PVC unicersal connector (suitable for both metric and USA piping) are provided to easily connect the ReefMat directly to the aquarium downpipe or dedicated feed pump.

Feeding & Diet

An opportunistic omnivore, the Seahorse will scavenge detritus, uneaten food, and algae — making it a natural cleanup crew member. Supplement with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or pellets 2–3x per week if natural food sources are limited.

Care & Water Parameters

The Seahorse thrives in stable, well-maintained reef conditions. Target parameters: temperature 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026 SG, pH 8.1–8.4, and alkalinity 8–12 dKH. A mature, established tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended.

Reef & Tank Compatibility

Generally considered reef-safe. The Seahorse coexists well with most corals and peaceful fish. Use caution with very small invertebrates or slow-moving tankmates. Provide ample rockwork and hiding spots to reduce territorial behavior.

Size & Growth

Seahorses are typically shipped at 0.5–1.5 inches. They are slow-growing and generally remain small, making them well-suited for nano and mid-size reef systems.
